Construction work at the lion enclosure

We're making room for the king of the animals: The Asiatic lions at Frankfurt Zoo are about to get more space. In order to enlarge the enclosure, the former moat will be drained and integrated into the outdoor enclosure. The enclosure will more than double in size - from 495 m² to over 1,000 m².

Lion KUMAR and lioness ZARINA have moved behind the scenes in Ukumari-Land during the reconstruction. Therefore, there are no lions currently on display at Frankfurt Zoo.
