Our service for families

It is very important to us that you have a wonderful visit to the zoo.
Our zoo is largely barrier-free. An exception is the upper floor of the Exotarium, which can only be reached via a staircase.

Playground

Opposite the entrance to the Exotarium you will find our large playground: a place for children to run around without any traffic, with a picnic area, a large sand area and climbing facilities.

Inclusive toddler play area

An inclusive toddler play area is available on the meadow at Grzimekcamp. On 140 m², children with and without disabilities can get moving together.

Handcarts

Handcarts are available for hire from the ticket office from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter for a rental fee of €5 and a deposit of €20.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at the ticket office from 9 am - 6 pm in summer and from 9 am - 4 pm in winter for a deposit of €20.

Petting zoo

In the petting zoo you and your children can pet the dwarf goats. The barrier-free dwarf goat enclosure is open daily.

Interactive information boards

There are many interactive information boards in the zoo - for example in the 'Katzendschungel' (Cats Jungle), at the Seal Cliffs, at the Rhino House, in front of the Exotarium and in the 'Borgori-Wald' (Great Ape House).

Disabled toilets

There are several signposted disabled toilets in the zoo, directly behind the zoo entrance in the Zoogesellschaftshaus and in the Borgori Forest ape house

Changing table

You will find a changing table in the toilets directly behind the entrance and in the 'Borgori-Wald' (Great Ape House)
