Wrapping gifts sustainably

'Tis the season for the battle with wrapping paper! And all that effort just for the brief moment of giving presents. What's left over are mountains of packaging material that pollute our environment.

We have a tip for you, not only for Christmas:

Furoshiki!  Furoshiki is the Japanese art of knotting bags and packaging out of cloth. Furoshiki shows its strength especially with irregularly shaped gifts such as wine bottles or biscuit tins, but also books or rectangular boxes. Advantage: The "packaging" can easily be recycled or, in the case of beautiful scarves, kitchen towels or shawls, can be a gift itself!

Small steps can achieve big things!
