Scientifically managed zoos have undergone an enormous development in recent years. They want to offer the animals a "substitute territory".
What needs to be considered when designing the enclosure, where do the zoo animals come from in the first place, how are they fed and kept busy? All these questions will be answered using various enclosure examples and animal species as examples.

The tour lasts 90 minutes. 

The zoo provides a sanctuary for animal species threatened with extinction by helping to preserve populations through internationally coordinated breeding programmes. Some animals born at the zoo have now also been released into the wild from Frankfurt Zoo.
